Each summer Alkion Center offers one or two separate Course Weeks. Though these Summer Weeks consist of required courses for Teacher Education and Early Childhood students, enrollment is open to anyone for an entire summer week or a part time selection of classes.
Week I – June 16 – 21
Sunday, 6 pm – Registration;
7 pm – Orientation/Opening & Keynote Talk on History through Music by Eric Muller
Daily: 8:20 am – Arrival and announcements
8:30 am – History through Music
10 am – Break
10:30 am – Electives: Watercolor Layer Painting or Clay Sculpture
12:15 pm – Lunch
1:15 pm – Eurythmy for everyone
2 to 5 pm – Watercolor Layer Painting or Clay Sculpture continued
2:45 to 4:00 pm – Singing and Playing the Lyre in the Mood of the 5th with Diane Barnes [an open elective, but required for current EC students]
4:05 to 5:15 pm – Early Childhood Festivals with Andree Ward [an open elective, but required for current EC students]
Monday Evening: Open Art Studios
Tuesday Evening: Special Presentation [TBA]
Wednesday Evening: Open Art Studios
Thursday Evening: Social Gathering
