About the Waldorf School of Philadelphia
Two Waldorf teachers and their close friends brought Waldorf education to Philadelphia in 1995 and received an outpouring of interest from the Philadelphia community. Started in a church basement with two kindergarten classes, the Waldorf School of Philadelphia has expanded over the years to include a robust Early Childhood program comprised of a 2-year old nursery, parent-toddler program, five mixed-aged kindergarten classrooms, eight grades, and a full cadre of special subject offerings. In the fall of 2014, the school relocated to its current and permanent and award-winning campus, originally designed by world-renowned architects Frank Furness and George Hewitt in 1873.
